GENERAL INFORMATion

Generally accepted files:

  • JPG, PNG or (animated) GIF
  • HTML (the code of an HTML banner must contain a “window.open()” function
  • MP4 (please note:  this fall under the High Impact purchase option, video in banner)
  • Delivery should always be in at least the 300x250 format (medium rectangle)

Video (this concerns the pre-roll, not banners/display):

  • MP4 (a maximum of 100 MB)

Video and display material may be delivered through the Ster Client portal

Please note: when purchasing online video the creation (pre-roll) may not relate to the purchase of a specific product or the use of a specific service that is available. The creation may call for support for the advertiser or call for the viewer to hold an opinion favourable to the advertiser. Ster uses the following guidelines for this:

  1. Advertiser is an organisation of a scientific, cultural, religious, ideological, political, or charitable nature;
  2. Advertiser holds a Dutch Fundraising Regulator (CBF) quality mark for charities or holds the public benefit organisation status (ANBI status);
  3. The Advertiser’s message does not relate to the purchase of a specific product or the use of a specific service that is available on the market but calls for support for Advertiser or calls for the viewer to hold an opinion favourable to Advertiser.

Regarding condition 3, the following guidelines apply:

  1. The spot may at no time contain a call to purchase / book tickets or register for a degree programme, course or event;
  2. The spot may at no time contain a ‘call to action’ regarding a product or service. Therefore not “Visit the Rijksmuseum now” or “Join the National Opera’s livestream on Sunday”, but “Now in the Rijksmuseum…” or “The National Opera presents”;
  3. The spot may mention the advertiser’s website, but this must at all times be the homepage. There may therefore at no time be any reference to a specific ticketing page, such as rijksmuseum.nl/tickets. The same applies to making the commercial clickable. When a visitor clicks on the commercial, they must at all times be directed to the advertiser’s homepage.

If you have any questions, please contact  Ster or go to this page.
